One of the events to create the exhibition involved residents at St Monica’s retirement village sharing their memories and memorabilia with pupils from Southmead’s first ever school, Fonthill Primary.

The pupils were particularly delighted to meet Win and Ed who had recently celebrated their 70^th wedding anniversary and first met as pupils at what was then known as Fonthill Road School. Apparently they were told their relationship would never last!
