A Day in the Life of a Tudor Merchant

Because you are not bringing goods into the city you can go through the gates without paying a toll. On the other side of the gate is the bridge with a steady stream of people heading towards the market. On the other side of the bridge you go through the arch of the second gate.

Ahead of you now you can see the church of St John's and the St John's Gate at the far end of Knifesmith Street.

Do you want to continue
ahead (south) along Knifesmith Street and through St John's Gate

or go
right (west) along Quay Street before you get to the gate?
