A Day in the Life of a Tudor Merchant |
You walk past a few houses, but soon you are walking along the river bank with fields to your right. To your left you can see several merchant ships moored at The Quay and about half way along you can see your vessel, the Mary James. The tide is going out so many of the ships are resting on the exposed mud of the river bank. There are a few small boats on your side of the river though there aren't many people about. You see a man and woman mending some fishing nets by a rowing boat. Do you want to ask them if they'll take you across the river to your ship, or do you decide to go back to the Frome Gate and bridge to cross the river? |
