A Day in the Life of a Tudor Merchant

The lane is quite narrow. In places the eaves of the houses almost touch the town wall. There are dark shadows in doorways and it's quite quiet compared to the bustle of the main route to market.

Suddenly a group of three rough looking men that look like beggars appear from one of the shadows. You think that they're going to ask you for some alms, but instead when they get closer one of them pulls out a knife and the other two grab you. They quickly rob you and knock you to the ground before disappearing around the corner and up Small Street.

You pick yourself up and brush yourself off. You're lucky they didn't kill you.

Do you want to go
back to St John's Gate to try and find a constable

or
carry on along the lane towards the bottom of Corn Street?
